There is one day a year that all students at the American school go to school on Saturday. They all have great projects waiting for their parents to see. In third grade their classroom turns into a wax museum. The children are each dressed as a "notable" person in history. When you come by they tell a short riddle about "themselves," and you have to guess who it is. They have great display boards and a report about that person. This is a culmination of a semester full of studying how to research and make a research report with a bibliography and all. This is a huge writing challenge for the third graders especially the one I know who doesn't like to write. (That is not to say he isn't a good writer. On the contrary he is excellent...when he will do it.) Anyway all the hard work paid off. It was made especially tough by having pneumonia for two weeks of school during the preparation time. We all got through it, and it proved to be a great learning experience. Gabriel made a great Neil Armstrong. We have other pictures from Ed Fair, but my friend sent me these, and I just love the second one. That's my little boy!
