AMIS choir

Hey this is Kimberly. As you can probably tell my parents aren't very good at updating our blog. And since I just figured out how to add a post I figured I would help them.
Last week I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So me, eight other middle school girls and our choir/band instructor, Mr. Vaughn, missed a week of school to sing. And even though all of our throats hurt a lot It was so worth it. And just so you know we didn't sing all five days (Our trip was seven days but two days we were traveling the entire day so they don't count) only 3.

These are all the girls going to the AMIS plus Mr. Vaughn and 3 parent chaperones

The first day our school group went to an amusement park. We went on this one ride 5 times in a row! and it went upside down! It was awesome! The only reason we didn't go more was because we had to catch a bus that left at a certain time. The good news was that we were going to the Hard Rock Cafe!!!! Which was completely awesome.

The second day we went to this Indian temple called Battu Caves (I don't think I spelled that right). There were so many stairs! We counted there were about 150 (only on on flight). Once you climbed those you had to climb down 20 or so then back up 50-ish!!!!! Then if you wanted to get back to the ground again you had re-climb all those stairs. Also the steps were tiny they were like 2 inches shorter than my foot!!! Wait, there is more. There were monkeys there too! They were adorable too! until they attacked you and stole your water bottle and anything else you were carrying. One stole my friends water bottle and another tried to steel mine but it failed. Then we went to the Kuala Lumpur look out tower which was pretty boring. Mostly I just shopped (there were gift shops up there).

An Indian statue. It is opening its chest and inside are a man and a woman.

EVIL Monkeys! It looks innocent but she is planning your destruction!

The Petronas Towers (twin towers)

That was the end of our sightseeing. That afternoon we went to the International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) where we met our hosts. When you do these trips people from the local school let the visiting students stay in their house.
Thursday- practice with all the other schools.
Friday- Practice with all the other schools.
Saturday-Practice. In the afternoon we went to a bird park! We saw koi fish, and about 5 monkeys (from a distance this time). And that was it! See it was raining so the people who worked there wouldn't let us in so we spent two hours in the gift shop. We should have gone to the mall! Then we had the concert which was awesome! We did really well plus we got an encore so we sang one of our songs twice. Anyway it was awesome. Then we went to the airport and left for Lagos!
All in all our trip rocked!!!!!!!!!! And this was an added bonus, now I have three countries my dad doesn't. Malaysia, Switzerland, and Hong Kong!

V. here....Way to go dear K. So glad you had such a great educational and fun trip. Way to save your water bottle from the monkeys!! If you beat your dad in countries visited, that means you are the family leader, " most countries visited"!!! Your concert sounded terrific!!Love, Granma c.
